Pros

Generous PTO pool, 401k contributions, pension(although phased out at this point)

Cons

Since the merger of the two companies the work has grown exponentially, and the company refuses to hire more people. More work for employees and wages are below market standard (company is well known in the industry for doing this). Culture is extremely toxic, senior management comes in angry EVERY day and of course takes it out on the employees. Lots of petty actions by senior management, aka they will look for any sort of wrongdoing and add it to your yearly review. Also I was a millennial straight out of college working for this company. Unless you enjoy working with 90% boomers, you may think twice about working here. Majority of the company people have been here for 10+ years, and are very comfy collecting their paycheck. Good luck trying to make any sort of progression in your career here. My advice for millennials fresh out of college get your experience here and move on QUICK

Pros

Global reach, brand name/reputation, nice technology equipment and solid networking. Opportunity for internal mobility. Good 401k match.

Cons

Incredibly slow systems and stifling bureaucracy. Culture is overall relaxed but not very hospitable, which is likely both a symptom and cause of a high-turnover environment. Raises are well below inflation. Moral does not seem considerably high and the bureaucratic nature of work hinders development. All of these factors combined negatively impact motivation. Very little open discussion about marketplace trends and tedious processes make the role feel very administrative despite being more analytical at other firms who have improved their systems. The firm has done a great job of diversifying across product lines and geographies, but a very poor job of talent retention and upgrading systems, which are the long-term tailwinds that’ll put Chubb at the forefront of the industry.
