Pros
The mission of the company is noble - help farmers produce more with less. The company is rapidly expanding. There will be potential for advancement particularly for those with people management skills and ability. SF office in a great location. Meals and snacks available round the clock. Challenging work and the opportunity to make a mark in agricultural space.
Cons
Most employees have no clue about agriculture and farming. There is little understanding of the customer and customer needs. Many employees underestimate the technology, knowledge and business acumen of today's farmers. Senior management has little business savvy and seem unprepared to run a company for profit - still more of a start up seeking venture capital than a business. Most people managers are unprepared for their responsibilities and ill-suited to people leadership. They might be great in their area of expertise but know very little about leading and developing people and seem uninterested in investing the time to develop people management skills. Although the company considers Transparency to be part of their DNA the culture is riddled with cliques and stifled communication. Dialogue is unwelcome unless you totally agree with" the plan". It is a culture of get on board or get off the bus. Keep your candor to yourself. It can only get you in trouble. Knowledge and experience are under appreciated.
