Good work life balance, not much else going. - Senior Software Engineer Continental Employee Review

Pros

The environment of the workplace is casual and majority of the team are generally supportive and willing to help when it gets to the nitty gritty of work. Interesting projects to work on that typically are about a year long. Requesting time off is not difficult. Work offers garage parking - a nice bonus in the snowy Chicagoland area and there is shuttle service available to ride trains.

Cons

Salary is not competitive. No defined career ladder or room for growth in the engineering dept. Deliverables are often tight schedule. Software quality processes are too focused on numbers, which does not necessarily reflect the quality of the software, but will impact schedules because of "paperwork".

Pros

Great work life balance and culture. If you want to work at a place that will provide a low stress, flexible position with amazing people, this place is no doubt one of the best in that area.

Cons

Pay is low compared to other companies in the area and the cost of living in the area is high. They seem to be outsourcing jobs to cut costs, so job security is not the best right now.
