Pros

- Good product, genuine pleasure to sell once you are having conversations with the right people and companies - Good commission structure - Opportunity to travel with work - Central London location

Cons

- Mislead during interview process: in my interview process which was run by the CSO and MD, their answers to my questions such as how many people are hitting target/ what percentage of leads or inbound vs outbound were in reality far from the truth. - Toxic work culture: there is a lot of nepotism and favouritism across the company. If you want to challenge the status quo this is not the place for you, you will be treated and looked at as if you are a trouble maker. If you are a 'yes' person/ robot then management will like you. - Inexperienced management: young graduates who close 1 or 2 big deals are then promoted into management positions and cannot coach other employees because of their lack of experience. - No territories: with a saturated market and sales team the lack of structure and sales ops makes it incredibly difficult to build a pipeline. It also means that several people might be working the same account at any one time which a) irritates prospects as they are getting spammed from Darktrace reps and b) severely lowers your chance of booking meetings. - Next to nothing tech stack: the only tools as a sales rep that you are given is LinkedIn Sales Navigator and a terrible in house built CRM system. They claim they cannot use cloud based products because of security but I reckon it is paranoia. - Unachievable targets: quarterly quota is £435k and only a small percent of reps hit that with very little hitting quarter on quarter - Low base salaries compared to industry standards - No benefits a part from Bupa Healthcare but this is a taxable benefit - Low annual leave allowance I would say the HP/ Autonomy crowd who fill many senior management positions are trying to replicate their formula of ballooning a company as quickly as possible without caring about the employees themselves.

Pros

Autonomy & Independence: You get great autonomy to build your own schedule. It operates very much like a true field sales motion, which is great if you value independence. Perks: There is a high degree of expense freedom, and the Sales Kickoffs are a definite highlight.

Cons

The company is currently gasping for air and is super misaligned. There is absolutely no sense of direction. The Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy obviously doesn't work because leadership changes strategy it every Half because of poor performance . Turnover is INCREDIBLY HIGH, people was congratulating me that I made it at Darktrace more than a year when I left, which is never a good sign for a company. CEO REPVUE- stated that only 15% of reps hit their goal attainment at Darktrace from it's reviews. If you apply here, you need to know exactly what you are getting into and be willing to work extremely hard just to help dig the company out of a hole.
