Pros

Fantastic product. Very young dynamic group of people. You can earn decent money for an entry level job (but less than what some recruiters are saying). 35-40k pro rata is realistic within a year. Not expected to work outside your hours. Free tea/coffee, fruit, lunch on Fridays, pay day open bar. Good socials.

Cons

Terrible morale, staff turnover is completely insane. In any other company the head of department would be asked some major questions over their staff retention rate but there’s a cosy team of ex-Autonomy people at the top who have each other’s backs. The only people hitting targets are working non-UK markets. The UK is so saturated that people work unqualified accounts just to hit KPIs. You won’t get paid on a lot of the meetings you book & deals rarely close. If they do they tend to take so long it’s unlikely you’ll still be in the company to get your 0.5%. It happens but it’s rare. A lot of backstabbing as ISRs and reps are scrabbling over accounts. The money to be made is in foreign markets, which unless you are fluent in another language you might be given after a few months. No respect for prospects. It is encouraged to hound them relentlessly with cold calls, emails, LinkedIn until they either say yes or get angry. Extremely repetitive and boring. There is no challenge to the job at all, it’s just calling people and sending generic emails as quickly as you can and hoping people respond. Orwellian level of surveillance. They have software to monitor your level of activity on the CRM as well as call numbers, lunch times etc. Very mean annual leave allowance. You won’t be asked to take it for medical appointments as some on here have written, but it’s still the legal minimum. After 2 years service you get an additional 2 days and that’s it. Complete lack of career development opportunities. You can move sideways but there are no direct promotions in the department. Very rare that anyone from inside sales is offered an AE job. People have moved to finance or IT but most just leave to go to a company that treats its staff better & pays more.

Pros

Autonomy & Independence: You get great autonomy to build your own schedule. It operates very much like a true field sales motion, which is great if you value independence. Perks: There is a high degree of expense freedom, and the Sales Kickoffs are a definite highlight.

Cons

The company is currently gasping for air and is super misaligned. There is absolutely no sense of direction. The Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy obviously doesn't work because leadership changes strategy it every Half because of poor performance . Turnover is INCREDIBLY HIGH, people was congratulating me that I made it at Darktrace more than a year when I left, which is never a good sign for a company. CEO REPVUE- stated that only 15% of reps hit their goal attainment at Darktrace from it's reviews. If you apply here, you need to know exactly what you are getting into and be willing to work extremely hard just to help dig the company out of a hole.
