Don't have to go into office

Cons

Don't have regular face to face time with your teams. Hours worked are outside the normal business hours. It's expected to work up to 12 hour days on a regular basis. No actual career path No care taken of employee wellbeing. Several staff have had extended stress leave due to the workload and expectations No time in lieu for extra hours worked. Regular expectations to work a full day after being up half the night for on production support work

Pros

Most colleagues are well intentioned, but stretched beyond the max.

Cons

After filing for FMLA, my “leader” encouraged me not to involve HR in the future. The whole point of FMLA is job protection. Him making this suggestion, at best, seems highly unethical and potentially illegal. Some leaders are good with people. Others are more techno sound. The ones that can effectively do both are let go. It makes no sense and the company offers little transparency.
