Pros
Flexible on working remotely Total job security (even for the incompetent and staff who don't show up more than a few times a month - reqs for replacements won't be approved, so managers won't let you go for any reason, since your position cannot be backfilled!!), you can't be fired unless you threaten to blow up the building. No accountability - do whatever! Marginally better than being unemployed. I get paid, but my work ethic and enthusiasm have died.
Cons
Below market salaries No opportunities to advance (ineffective management is just recycled from mgmt position to mgmt position) Abysmal benefits (HDHP + HSA, 1st 5 years = 10 days vacation/yr) No accountability - do whatever! Everyone else is! No raise last year, likely none this year. Information hoarding, communication lockdown.
