Pros

Benefits and pay are phenomenal. I love my health insurance and my 401k is packed after just 3 years.

Cons

GEICO pays well because the CSRs are in the line of fire. You will field calls for anything and everything and it can get frustrating FAST. Geico make sit very clear that they are concerned with the quantity of customers served rather than the quality of work done. People don't do their job and the rest of us are fielding the angry customers. Everyone I know has quit due to the pressure of taking more and more calls while cleaning up others laziness and still providing customer service to angry people. Insurance is highly regulated and the CSRs have no control over anything however every person that calls thinks we run the company. It's infuriating to be under intense pressure to take more and more calls, get pretty much NO sick time and get timed for any breaks. Yes at this level you have 30 minutes of any time break to pee, eat, have an existential crisis, etc. I want to quit after every phone call. The supervisors are usually balls of toxic positivity. Don't tell me not to complain about the customers when they spent 10 minutes yelling at me because THEY called the wrong company.

Pros

GEICO is one of the largest employers in my smaller town, so I've heard all the good, the bad, and the ugly. What a pleasant surprise it's been working here! There is so much intentional change to create a great employee experience and get the right team leaders in place. Highly recommend not putting too much weight into older negative comments if you're thinking about applying. I've been very happy with my salary, the benefits/time off, culture, and leadership (both locally and senior leaders). I feel like there's a lot of room to continue to grow my career here and I see the same opportunities for others.

Cons

Really nothing major that I can think of!

Pros

Interesting problems to work on. Good benefits. Decent pay.

Cons

Managers will gaslight you and upper leadership is constantly changing, so expect projects you're working on to be thrown out every 6 months. Many people burn out and quit after some time and are never back filled, so you'll be expected to take on their workload. Some of my colleagues were working 80 hour work weeks to keep up with the work load and yet told they were not performing well enough. There also wasn't much diversity.
