It's Catch 22 at this place. - Sales Eeecutive Gartner Employee Review

Pros

Put in some time here and your rep will improve -- fortunately most outsiders don't see what's going on behind closed doors. If you have viable options, take them -- or look at Gartner as a way-station along the way. People do sometimes come back -- and then, often leave again because of the idiocy.

Cons

You're told to manage your time better if the shifting priorities make it necessary to, for example, reschedule a deliverable. Then you're faulted for missing the original deadline. Upper management is laughing all the way to the bank, and mid-management just follows the company line and can't rationalize what is irrational here. The morale is poor; people compete rather than cooperate. But the pay and benefits are good.

Pros

Terrific coworkers. Nearly everyone at the company is pleasant, professional, and willing to help you even if you’ve never met them before. Hybrid work environment. People generally seem to care about you on an individual level. One of the best corporations I’ve worked for.

Cons

Gartner is not in a great place right now. The business model requires changes and Wall Street analysts have tremendous doubts about the corporate liability in the era of AI. Stock has fallen in half over the past two years. Massive layoffs across the company. Doubt the stability is there for any kind of medium term or long-term career. Below market compensation, offset by pros above when they exist.
