Pros

Glassdoor had good people sprinkled throughout, good people with good hearts, wanting to take their skills, expertise and collaboration with thought leaders and actually build a high-quality product. But only a few, and not enough.

Cons

Will make this quick. Leadership (non-product) was a biz ops party through and through, and at times, felt a lot like you had to be "one of the guys" to be heard. With a basically all-White management team, and just a sprinkle of diversity across the senior-level directors does a disservice to what you guys call yourselves - an open company. A company with the opportunity to be the solution job seekers need, especially during these times, yet it was clear they weren't ready to sacrifice short-term growth for a long-term strategy focused on building a strong product. Though the culture was "open", not once did I feel like a part of the team. It's a dog eat dog culture, all about bettering yourself and not working as a team. Managers need to learn how to empower, mentor and provide air coverage for their teams. Being a manager isn't about taking the credit by putting yourself in the spotlight, it's about coaching and leveling up your team.

Pros

The benefits and culture were probably the best I've ever had. Even better than the benefits were the people I worked with. I enjoyed coming into work and doing my job and really stood behind the company tag line of helping people find jobs they love.

Cons

During covid things started getting bad. Like many other companies layoffs came around and how the company handled those were terrible. You show up one day and next thing you know you lose access and cryptic email and then your'e gone. This happened again in 2025. They brought in person whose job it was to basically get people to leave. They didn't care about the content on the site, or any of the efforts in place to promote integrity and transparency and instead just wanted to shove AI down everyone's throat. What's sad is that Glassdoor was once a great company that I was proud to say I worked for. Now it's just like everywhere else, AI, AI, AI and trying to get people to quit before the next round of layoffs.
