It was a great firm...until greed took over - Executive HDR Employee Review

Pros

The company was great right after the managers (in 1996) bought themselves back from Bouygues ownership - a French construction firm. Now that many of these fabulous people (CEO especially)have retired a new executive rank is clueless about the great culture that "was" and all they are focused on is making money for themselves - at other's expense. The stock price has gone up well but it would have been double the value had there not been a stock appreciation program for a select few. The corporate execs use the compnay plane for their own use so if you are part of this crowd it is a nice perk. I know - I was.

Cons

The compensation package over-rewards executives at the expense of the rank and file. It is the "emperor has no clothes" syndrom because most current upper & middle management are afraid to speak up. Many long-term employees are just hanging on until they can cash out - in the next few years. The new Engineering Company President is a "political" player and this is how he got appointed - by trashing other candidates. Most of the best people were leading the marketing program and they have been driven away after they grew the firm - many now working at other firms and taking the good employees and building a buisness there. The grown has peaked and has been flat for 5 years. It is sad to see how money changes some people - especially when they were in a position to be generous.
