Pros

The company has an excellent culture that promotes work-life balance in my experience. The emphasis is always on the quality of work we do. I have been challenged by the diversity of transportation planning projects and the knowledge I have gained being involved. My growth in the position has been slow but steady, and I have had some good internal training opportunities. Communication by corporate management is generally good, and I have faith in the competence and decision making skills of the corporate managers. The compensation package is comparable to other A/E firms.

Cons

Promotion opportunities have been limited. I have had limited opportunities for company sponsored attendance to professional trade associations, groups or external training. Our department has been slow to hire for key senior positions that need to be filled. I've had no obvious mentor during my time at HDR nor has anyone proposed it.

Pros

Culture, schedule flexibility, depending on management, remote work, and employee owned, okay benefits

Cons

Parking sucks. The office is in downtown so you have pay just about any where you park. Work is repetitive or stagnant sometimes.

Pros

Fantastic teamwork. The Coastal Group is very close and highly collaborative. There is a lot of support from upper management in the Coastal Group. Lots of projects lined up.

Cons

PTO and Sick Leave are tied together.
