Pros

Monthly happy hours (pre-covid), dress down Fridays, potential to make decent money

Cons

It's a very stressful work environment. Not the good kind of stress, where you're on your toes because it's fast-paced. But for over the year I'd been at Hays, along with almost everyone I spoke with in my time there, we were all stressed over job security. Employees are just cash cows to management. If you don't bill, you should expect managers to use scare tactics to get you to bill (if you don't put a fee on the board next period, you should reevaluate if this job is for you). I understand this is a sales job, but I've worked in sales before and this was not the culture at all. Also, the company is a revolving door. They're always hiring because they're always firing. Someone got fired every month or so, along with the layoffs that happened in April due to COVID, when everyone was notified at the same time over a Zoom call. You should also expect to be micromanaged. You have very specific metrics to hit every week, and they'll be tracking you. If you happen to have an amazing week, it won't matter the next one because everything is back at zero and you have to hit the same metrics all over again. Another issue is that employees in the New York office are mostly white. NYC is a melting pot of different races and ethnicities, and the office does not portray that at all. Lastly, the culture is very high school. After someone would get fired, I'd hear my coworkers trash talk those former employees in front of management, and management would just laugh along. Overall, there are a lot of companies that have happy hours, have casual dress codes, and compensate you well. I think the cons outweigh the pros here unfortunately.
