Pros

Health Catalyst is my sixth Health IT experience and it's, bar none, the best. Some of my previous experiences have been rewarding but not compensated well. Others have been well compensated but with companies that were overly profit driven. Still others were with actual healthcare providers that just didn't know what to do and wasted time and resources with indecision. Health Catalyst is all about driving a mission of improving healthcare, making a great firm by keeping staff happy, and delivering great products that disrupt what we expect in healthcare. There are certainly other places you could make more money at, but what they lack in financial compensation they more than make up for in staff perks. Unlimited vacation, paid maternity/paternity leave, great benefits, the list goes on and on.

Cons

The company moves too slowly. They operate by consensus which is often times difficult to come by - especially with customers of varying sophistication and product mix.

Thank you for the very nice write up! I agree that the pace of change can feel slow some times. I think this is a combination of our increasing size and the fact that we value consensus as a leadership team. That does;t come without potential downsides, and this may be what you are feeling at times. We are always open to figuring out how we improve and move more quickly. Thanks for your thoughts and willingness to contribute!

Pros

There are some really amazing people still there. Depending on the department, there is still a good work life balance.

Cons

The current organizational structure offers limited paths for career advancement or promotions, particularly with the strategic shift toward expansion in India. Additionally, there is a growing disconnect between leadership's strategic direction and daily operational realities, leading to execution challenges on the ground. Things feel very disorganized. People are stretched thin.
