Pros

-Flexible schedule -you get to go to new, different places each week with perks (got a 3 day pass into the Arnold) -50% discount on box -health insurance from your first day

Cons

-you get your schedule on Friday for the following week (no notice) -you're told you're going to be "promoting events" but you're actually standing in the same gyms 3-4 days a week, week after week -expectations are unrealistic- people on the team will set their weekly goal at 20, be praised for setting such a high goal, and sell 5. On the flip side, if you set your goal lower than 10, you are reprimanded in front of your friends and made to feel ashamed for not having a higher goal -expectations are unrealistic for events. For example, why would HF be posted up at the Dairy expo (full of farmers who harvest their own meat and have vegetable gardens)? Waste of time, but you're still chewed out for not having any sales. -Work life balance is about as terrible as you could possibly imagine. Be prepared to go into the office from 11-3 on your "day off". Or, having to go in from 12-1.... not sure which is worse. -very low accountability for showing up on time or showing up at all. Almost like working at a restaurant. -since HelloFresh is "promoting from within" everyone is anxious to please the sales manager. Meaning they will play games, lie, and go behind your back to get a one up on you (side note: they're not actually even promoting from within) -in the event that you actually get a good event to sell at, (ie, a bridal show) you will most likely be overstaffed (i.e. 4 people at a 6 ft table) and therefore unable to perform to your highest potential because others also want to sell. But you still get reprimanded for not bringing in the same sales as if there were only 2 of you. -not reimbursed for gas or parking. The Columbus office is downtown, where the garages are $3-4/hour. People will be late and you will "wait on them to start" essentially just sitting there costing you money while you're waiting on others -you have to drive around with a table and box in your car pretty much all the time. No respect is given to what part of town you live in and what part of town you get events in. Unless you're central, you can easily drive 30-40 min in one direction, sometimes 1-2 times a day. -if your sales are below X, you will be required to go to additional "training". It's basically shame hour for those of you who are underperforming. You're told you're being paid, but then you can't clock in and then you never actually get paid for it. Also, in the event that you work over 40 hours, you get paid for 40 with the promise that the extra hours will be on the next week's paycheck. They won't. But usually you're not very close to even 35 so you don't have to worry about it! -inadequate training. I was hired in a group and since then 2-4 people have started every other Monday. We were basically thrown to the dogs with little training and expected to sink or swim. -if you're looking for a professional job, this is so not it. My friend put in his 2 weeks notice and was informed 2 days later that he was only going to get to finish the week. He was left unemployed for a week before his new job started.

Pros

There are some genuinely nice people here but that is the only real positive. Even they are slowly leaving because the culture has become too toxic to stay in.

Cons

Highly political culture with no real promotions. Leadership is insecure, ego driven, and more focused on protecting themselves than supporting employees. Micromanagement is constant, communication is poor, and priorities shift without explanation. Quiet layoffs happen with no transparency and usually protect the same small group. The new US marketing lead has made the culture even worse. He was difficult to work with before and has only become more problematic in a higher role. There is constant questioning, no clear vision, and nonstop steering that sends teams in circles. It is hard to understand how he keeps moving up the ladder despite repeated negative scores and consistent employee feedback. Independent analysis, including the Grizzly Research report, highlights similar issues such as unstable leadership, lack of direction, and a business that feels like it is declining. What the report describes matches what employees experience inside the company. Even if the CEO or HR choose to ignore these problems, they remain the reality employees deal with every day.
