Pros

I loved the location. I worked as a Front Desk Associate from February 2010 until August. Although I only lived in Torrington a short time, my co-workers were pretty awesome. The trains were an issue with some of the guest; but with our great customer service, the guests soon appreciated the train whistles as the flavor of Torrington!!!

Cons

There weren't enough guest requesting transportation services from the hotel staff and I actually enjoyed that small luxury!

Pros

So much downtime to whatever you want. Especially as a college student, I could do all my homework at work, and since I workout and play basketball, I could literally exercise there too. I was playing games on my laptop, switch, xbox, all at work because it was so chill and such an easy job.

Cons

Pay is not that good because you're not doing much work. Not really opportunity for growth unless you move to a different and nicer hotel.

Pros

Good benefits Flexibility Decent pay

Cons

Terrible management Never any recognition In 3 years never once had a performance review Had to basically beg for a raise Focus only on the mistakes you make Very regularly and frequently use favoritism Zero support from management Management has zero empathy for employees Frequently with zero notice reduces hours and when you voice your concerns they just tell you to deal with it.
