Pros

Flexible schedule as a part time student, Easy to shine due to other employees setting the bar so low, good opportunity to pick up extra hours on school breaks / weekends, time and a half on sunday

Cons

Management can be underqualified and very unprofessional. It's either a hit or miss with your managers, either they've worked their way up the food chain for 20 years to get to management level and are miserable, or they are qualified and belong in the leadership position. Very hierarchical structure, Assistant managers respond to store managers who respond to district managers, and it goes down the chain to sales associates / employees who are forced to work harder in order to impress the head of the food chain in order to give the store managers / assistant store managers bigger bonuses. Nearly every employee is entry level and has no previous qualifications which means you're going to be working with a lot of low quality high school and college kids who provide no value to the company. You will also have to pick up for their lack of work ethic and not be rewarded for it. Don't be surprised if you make minimum wage for 2+ years.
