Pros
Amazing culture, top ranked academic medical center (#1 hospital in Texas), company cares about its employees. Frequent bonuses, financial support during Hurricane Harvey, pretty good health insurance, financially stable. Houston Methodist is the only hospital in the medical center that hasn’t done layoffs recently.
Cons
It can be very difficult to move up/get promoted. Not a lot of movement because people tend to stay here a long time & then when there are opportunities it seems politics play a big part in who gets what job. Just wish there was a better path here for growth. Many smart, educated people end up leaving the company because they are being offered promotions elsewhere.
