Pros

Houzz is a horrible company to work for, a regrettable time in my life. Like many Glassdoor contributors have said, it’s a smoke screen. They try to appeal to millennials with company culture and perks like regular free food...possibly to hide the fact that they are a basic e-commerce company and a middleman for selling overpriced home goods? The vast majority of their employees are under the age of 35 and mostly women. It’s creepy and off putting that they lack diversity in hiring a broader range of ages (and so few men). They have terrible return policies and much of my job dealt with customers who were upset that their items arrived broken (or didn’t arrive at all).

Cons

DO NOT be fooled by the allure working in any of their roles that mention “marketplace” “operations” “service” or “commerce.” They disguise the job duties... you will be a call center worker dealing with a steady stream of irate customers.

The people are truly the best. The product is fantastic and works well. It's fun to work at a company that's a household name.

There has been uncertainty in recent years

Pros

Great learning environment. Great training. Amazing people. Benefits started on day one. Fully remote. I will say i came down with COVID-19 and had continued health issues that kept me from working for 4 months. They worked with me and I came back to be successful in the role. I loved my team and my immediate leadership. I think if you are straight out of college or want to try sales. They are a great place to cut your teeth

Cons

Base pay is barely above minimum wage here in Washington. Most of the people were working two jobs. Leads are not warm or cool. They are many times incomplete and ice cold. They also make you stay an SDR for a year minimum and changed the rules on the requirements to be promoted to AE on training classes the were a month away from their 12th month. To many mini meetings everyday. 3 per day is waaaay to much. While it breaks up the day it also messes with your call flow.
