      Pros

      Once your foot is in the door, there are lots of opportunities and different avenues to experience in the hotel industry. I started as a valet and worked my way up to the front office and have grown to enjoy the new responsibility with each challenge I've faced.

      Cons

      Politics can sway your chances of promotion. There is a significant push to travel in order to move up.
