Pros

Flexibility in schedule is the best part of working here. Many people work at home or remotely when they can. There is also flexibility in your career path. ICF works across so many interrelated fields (think power markets, transportation, energy efficiency, renewables, at local, state, and federal levels) so you can work on multiple projects over time. So your career can move up, but it can also move sideways and diagonally into other projects and industries.

Cons

They pay is not the greatest, nor is the high deductible health plan. The location is way out in Fairfax in the middle of the suburbs, so it's not easy to go out for lunch unless you have a car. On my team in particular, we have three main managers who all live across the country. They only come to the office quarterly and so I think they are oblivious to the personalities and culture of the team members which makes it feel like they're a bit out of touch with junior staff.
