More Pros and Cons

I have been working at ICF full-time

    Pros

The recruiting and onboarding process have been a refreshing personal experience. The first day suggests all the benefits of a large company with the personal feel of a small company. Everyone seems focused on doing what is right, while respecting wise corporate governance.

The learning and development opportunities provide high quality options from brands I trust.

The benefits include healthcare options with low monthly premiums and generous time off for new hires with a time off reserve bank.

The technology and facilities seem to provide a good balance for local and remote workers.

In the end though, it is the people. Most companies talk about the people. ICF seems to know how to hire and nurture people. I feel lucky to be here.

    Cons

Forced to write one... but can't think of one.

    Pros

    Great work-life balance environment.

    Cons

The location in Fairfax, VA, though very walking distance from Metro, it does not have much around it.

    Pros

love that we have both commercial and defense clients and there are lot of long term employees who have stayed w/ the company when they could have gone elsewhere to make more $

    Cons

Our company name doesn't say what we do in the market place. And it has changed often recently: ICF International , ICF Marco, ICF

    I worked at ICF full-time

    Pros

Flexible hours, kind of like being your own boss. Laid back.

    Cons

Some of the clients I noticed would be kind of rude and out of line. But, with some patience this shouldn't be too much of an issue for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, maybe add some extra opportunities for your employees to climb up vs stand still.

I worked at ICF part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It requires few skilks. If you can read, you're ok. The building is nice and clean.

    Cons

I found it boring. You sit and try to call people for surveys, only being hung up on many times. Some questions you have to ask are totally intrusuve and disrespectful. Not for me.

    Advice to Management

Don't call people multiple times when they refuse the survey even once.

    Pros

Good work/life balance, not intellectually demanding

    Cons

Contracts ended very quickly, and it seemed I was constantly scrambling to be placed on a new project. Also difficult to get promoted.

    Pros

Great people. Teams have a lot of independence.

Been here a while. As the company has gotten larger become a bit more bureaucratic with internal processes.

    Advice to Management

Talk more about what corporate growth means for individual advancement and career opportunities. Less about stock growth.
