I have been working at ICF (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture of ICF is very positive and unique. ICF is a company that values its employees, looks for ways to integrate specific areas of interest into work, and promotes a healthy work/life balance. ICF encourages transparency and effectively communicates high-level goals to all levels of employees in the organization. I started working here as a research assistant at the start of my career in the industry, and have felt fully supported by my manager and my team as I've continued to learn through the years.

    Cons

This must be common, but opportunity for promotions and performance reviews only occur one time a year.

I have been working at ICF full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've just gotten hired for one of two jobs I applied to with ICF - both application processes were really great with everyone being communicative, warm, and friendly. On top of that, after not being selected for the first job I applied for, my recruiter worked with me and genuinely cared to get me on a different team within the company that applied to my skill set which is definitely something you don't see often with recruiters for large companies.

    Cons

    No cons so far!

I have been working at ICF full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - learn a lot
    - systems in place function fairly well compared to other companies I've been in
    - work with great colleagues
-decent benefits (industry standard or a little above)

    Cons

    - a lot of work is contingent on the whims of the U.S. Government, can create job instability for some
    - employee growth can be limited except in extremely special circumstance (e.g. policies requiring 2 years in a position before promotion, capping raises), meaning sometimes you have to leave to grow

    Advice to Management

    - foster growth, especially in key lower-mid staff with talent in order to increase retention
    - diversify U.S. Government-focused division portfolios

I worked at ICF full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are comparable to other companies

    Cons

Corporate culture is poor. Employees are not recognized for their accomplishments in a way that is fair and equitable. Recent management changes have resulted in a culture of intimidation and dishonesty.

    Advice to Management

ECR group leadership changes have created a hostile work environment. A bullying boss creates a culture where employees have little recourse and become discouraged from offering up new suggestions and ideas. It discouages diversity of thought and people. Employees should not be encouraged to lie about ICF’s tools and capabilities and upper management should intervene to prevent this from happening in the future. The lack of investment into R&D and lack of ability to increase resident expertise will have a long term impact even though recent wins might attract new personnel.
