Pros
The lottery business is resistant to market volatility so it is a relatively stable company to work for. Because the company is world-wide there are opportunities to work in many locations. Many of my co-workers have taken advantage of this in the years I have been with the company. In addition, as the company wins privatization contracts, positions open up regularly in other states.
Cons
In my department, at least, the opportunities for advancement or career progression are scarce.
