Pros

- pay & benefits - vacation/PTO/remote options - learn new skills and financial instrument literacy, and a lot of “behind-the-scenes” of the brokerage world. - develop relationships with hedge funds and Financial advisors

Cons

- work load for the client services department is a bit much. should have more time to focus on projects. - opportunity for advancement/climbing the ladder isn’t very wide, but working for IBKR will open doors all over the financial industry. - lack of communication between different departments. Inefficient procedures prevent more work from being done timely.

Pros

Good benefits (50% up to 5% 401k match, paid lunches, fully paid medical plan). Work-life balance is decent; it's rare to be asked to work more than a 45-hour week. It's a good place to break into fintech, particularly in client services.

Cons

A largely uncollaborative and sometimes toxic corporate culture outside of client services. Unless your name carries weight with management, your colleagues, even at lower levels, can be unresponsive or downright hostile, making it difficult to accomplish anything. Upward mobility and career development opportunities are limited, which reflects the company’s focus on automation and a lean operating model.
