Pros

I was offered a highly competitive pay to join Jacobs. I was happy at my current workplace at the time but decided to give myself and Jacobs a chance. Most people were friendly and helpful during my short tenure.

Cons

I did not see a bright future at this office at the time so I left. Below are several reasons. Things might have changed since I left. The below reasons are my opinion of the Atlanta office only at the time. - In terms of technology, the Jacobs' Atlanta office was somewhat lagging behind compared to their competitors in the same market. Most people were reluctant to learn new software and upgrade themselves. - Job assignment was confusing and conflicting so many people had no ideas what to do and who do what. - Lack of mid-level engineers. There were many so-called high level engineers who were supposed to guide junior engineers but had no time and patience to do so or had no ideas what they were talking about. From my observation, only a few of them was knowledgeable and knew what they were talking about. The rest of them, in spite of their high titles, was pretty clueless in the design. Therefore this office needs a strong core of mid-level and senior level engineers ! - There were more awful projects than good ones. Most of the awful projects was due to bad design in the early phases so it cost the company a good chuck to fix mistakes. There were many endless meetings just to hear the so-called lead engineers/managers cluelessly talking about ways to fix things. Waste of time!
