Support takes too much time. You have to constantly “prove” you need more staff, all the while your team is drowning. It goes over your manager, to your manager’s manager, to THEIR manager, who takes months to agree to anything.
Progression feels like a distant dream if it isn’t within your own team or same sector of the company. I want to progress to the engineering field via apprenticeship, but nobody is making it clear on how I do that, or are reluctant to support me in doing so. The only plan of action I have is through informal conversations and hopes and prayers that people keep their word.
