Pros

-Opportunity for growth, -start out with 18 vacation days with 40 hours sick leave, -6 weeks of fully paid maternity and paternity leave, -Tuition reimbursement program (up to 12k annually), -5% 401k match with additional match ranging from 1%-5% depending on how old you are and how long you've worked at JCI, -many positions have opportunity for hybrid or fully remote opportunities

Cons

Not the greatest medical insurance, benefits have changed several times since I've been here that have become worse. For example some recent changes made are: next upgrade in vacation days was pushed out to 10 years when it used to be 7 years. The amount of additional 401k match you receive that is based off your age and years of service declined. If you work on a team, the raises are pulled from the same pool--so if you and another coworker are both outstanding you both will not be able to receive a substantial performance based raise.

Pros

Decent base pay and fast paced work makes the days go by quickly. Lately the company has been actually investing in their new product lines ever since Joakim became our CEO.

Cons

The compensation is lacking. No bonuses whatsoever for senior level engineers even when they're recognized as a key contributor on the team. We are given our 401k match on March 1st to cover the previous year's matches so you lose out on a lot of the year's market gains. The healthcare coverage is mediocre at best for a fortune 500 company. The raises are still given like it's 2018; 3% is considered a "good" merit increase. This is due to the "forced distribution" merit increase system where only "so many" people can receives "above expectations" raises.
