Pros

Being paid a salary was nice.

Cons

Profits are seen only by upper senior leadership. None of it trickles down to the majority of the workers. The work you perform will not matter. You can (and will) be let go at any time, for any reason, at JCI’s whim. Company is very political and there is an unbelievable amount of time and resources wasted on corporate nonsense. The people seem friendly on a surface level but are the Skilled Politician type once you get to know them. The company prioritizes cost cutting over prioritizing their technology. The atmosphere/work environment is very poor. 3+ years needed for promotions. No career growth. Subpar benefits. You will not be happy working here.

Pros

Had a lot of flexibility with management in choosing and outlining the projects I wanted to work on

Cons

A lot of the more interesting IT work was reserved for a few set of teams, felt insular in that regard
