Pros

If you can survive the insanity here, then you will be able to work anywhere later.

Cons

Senior management has no strategic direction which trickles down throughout the organization. Career paths or planning are non-existant. Training opportunities are limited. Each autumn involves cost cutting measures, where we cut off our nose to spite our face. Excessive hours are the expectation but compensation is not adequate to compensate for constant overtime. There is no proper project or resource planning, everyone is over allocated, and the best you can do some days is to cater to whoever shouts the loudest.

Pros

Decent pay, good PTO and benefits

Cons

Everything else. ZERO training. They hand you a laptop (which is garbage) and say good luck. There is no "team." Everyone is on their own. The senior techs all reached their peak 20 years ago and don't even know what BACnet is. The bureaucracy is unbearable. Ordering a simple part is nearly impossible. There are so many apps you have to check in on everyday and they care more about those metrics than they care about the service their customers are receiving. If you want to get your butt kicked everyday with zero support at a company that specializes in taking advantage of their customers, this is the job for you.
