Pros

Good training program to give associates foundation to perform tasks. Fast paced with a variety of tasks. Loyal although shrinking customer base.

Cons

Required repetitive training reviews are time consuming and not factored into payroll budget, impacts ability to complete tasks within budget. Workload frequently exceeds budgeted hours, especially in smaller volumn stores. No raises in last 8-9 years, little incentive for hourly associates to excell. Old, unreliable POS system impacts customer service.. Too many questions for customers slows down checkout process(always a complaint at Kmart). Rewards program too complicated for shoppers and associates to explain. Company too focused on integrated retail( online, mobile) ignoring core, in-store shopper. Senior management not always in alignment with company culture of open feedback. Standard long hours for retail but, schedule for Thanksgiving/Black Friday is horrble.
