Pros

Each director has freedom to run her center how she chooses. This means that all throughout town the center can vary in quality. Corporate policy is fair and child-centered. The teachers really love the children. Pay is fair for management.

Cons

I worked for 2 different centers and was so disgusted by the first one that I asked to be relocated after 2 weeks. The children literally told me that they couldn't play on the floor because it was so dirty. The staff told me the vacuum was broken. When I turned it on it worked just fine. It was a shock to the staff that it worked. Training is very poor and short. You do most of your training as you go, so the quality of training depends on the quality of the teacher in that classroom.

The Littleton corporate office closed and reverted to headquarters in Portland, OR. Only a few employees were able to transfer to their office.

Pros

I love coming into work every morning and I have a great and helpful team to work with. There are many transportation options for the Portland area. I am given every tool I need to do my job and management has treated me with respect. This place has the potential to be a fun and stable environment. Early education is till valued by the public and it won't go away any time soon. That doesn't mean that a company like this is immune to self-destruction.

Cons

I had an extremely unpleasant experience with a miscommunication that made me believe that I was to be let go. That made me more aware of how tenuous employment is during this time of extreme flux. The atmosphere of mistrust and conspiracy has the potential to be a deadly form of toxin in a business sense. Things are still in limbo and seems to never move toward a stable pattern of predictability and the mechanisms are not fully in place in all departments for employees to navigate the performance-review/promotion/hiring process.
