Pros

If you work in the corporate office, its a great place to learn about the retail business from the ground up. The company is great with helping out organizations like Susan G. Komen.

Cons

The buying offices consist of 80% women, under 30. Atmosphere could feel like the movie "Mean Girls" if you were more focused on work than fitting in or did not start there straight out of college. Also, they give you the understanding that you have a shot at moving up from your position, until you see that they only tend to promote and focus on those that went to the colleges of universities that they recruit from. In my nearly 4 years, I only remember a handful of specialists being promoted to an analyst position. The remainder either quit or switched departments.

Pros

Good full-time benefits, flexible scheduling. But the cons are starting to outweigh the good.

Cons

A new store manager took over the Massapequa Park location (Long Island, NY) and the workplace culture has become highly challenging since. Her management style is overly critical, and she makes harsh, rapid judgments without taking the time to know her associates or understand their roles. Furthermore, she does not lead by example, and she sets unrealistic expectations without providing regular check-ins or continuous coaching. This has left the staff feeling unsupported and neglected. There is also a strong perception that loyal employees hours are being unfairly cut or even terminated to reduce store costs rather than supporting the well-being and retention of the staff.
