Pros

No experience needed It pays the bills (sort of) It's a good starter job until you can get something else Good discount off of already cheap stuff The other floor and truck associates were fun and nice people to work with

Cons

No consistency with the management No communication between management and associates WAY too much focus on credit (it was the only way you could get recognized, and I got a lot of critique for it even though I only got five hours a week, two of which were before the store opened) A lot of disrespect Favoritism Feels a lot like high school (drama, drama, micromanaging, drama) Customers are really rude and demanding Managers won't answer a page and will leave you hanging with an impatient customer for what will feel like hours You get disrespected if you call out or ask for time off Managers will gossip in front of you, adn give positive reinforcement to bad workers if said workers can get in their inner circle Almost no training It is what it is

Pros

Good full-time benefits, flexible scheduling. But the cons are starting to outweigh the good.

Cons

A new store manager took over the Massapequa Park location (Long Island, NY) and the workplace culture has become highly challenging since. Her management style is overly critical, and she makes harsh, rapid judgments without taking the time to know her associates or understand their roles. Furthermore, she does not lead by example, and she sets unrealistic expectations without providing regular check-ins or continuous coaching. This has left the staff feeling unsupported and neglected. There is also a strong perception that loyal employees hours are being unfairly cut or even terminated to reduce store costs rather than supporting the well-being and retention of the staff.
