Pros

High level of integrity throughout the company, open communications, and sincere interest in doing the right thing.

Cons

Unfortunately, I need to come up with twenty words of cons. When in reality after 41+ years in IT, I have no cons for Lockheed Martin. They are not perfect, but highly acceptable.

Pros

- Descent coworkers. - WLB - Never went > 40 hrs a week. - Hybrid / Flex schedule.

Cons

I brought a TS clearance with me and the position I was working in required TS/SCI. Well, the particular customer denied the SCI. I had been assured by management that there was plenty of Unclassified work to do if that happened. Turns out, that was not true. I was given less than two weeks to apply on the jobs board, which I never stood a chance with. The company hires so slowly its nowhere near enough time. Never mind that I had a TS and I could have been moved to another program or anything else. I've worked at other defense contractors that have parked me on an IRAD or been able to move me while waiting on clearance shenanigans. Times have clearly changed. Other cons... You get who you get on your "team". Teams don't get to chose their own people. There are some very smart people and others that are useless and/or unmotivated. The health care benefit is really bad. Only high deductible options to chose from. Also, if you get discharged/laid off, they terminate coverage the Friday after your last day. Most other companies at least give you to the end of the month.
