Pros

There were significant opportunities for lateral moves within the company, and a constant stream of new project opportunities. Employees were extremely bright, and committed to their customers' missions.

Cons

Senior management culture does not embrace collaboration, and tends to be militaristic in their approach to managing the corporation's employees. The sector of the company that provides support to Civilian Agencies is treated as a secondary thought to the corporation, as the infrastructure and back office is designed solely to support the DoD projects. The administrative red tape required by support functions is unwieldy and results in not being able to support clients quickly. Financial management and reporting is maintained in a complex system that does not lend itself to easy reporting by program managers. This is also negatively impacted by the reporting structures, wherein the financial managers do not report to the programs, and cannot be held accountable by program management. The corporation does not value its managers' customer intimacy.

Pros

High level of integrity throughout the company, open communications, and sincere interest in doing the right thing.

Cons

Unfortunately, I need to come up with twenty words of cons. When in reality after 41+ years in IT, I have no cons for Lockheed Martin. They are not perfect, but highly acceptable.
