1. Depending on the program you're working on, there are some truly amazing things you'll be a part of developing. 2. Decent work/life balance. 3. Great people to work with.
Cons
1. Below average salary. 2. Promotions are almost non-existent. Without a dedicated manager pushing for your advancement, you will remain the same job level and pay grade for years. 3. Because of the tight security policies in place, expect to be working with very outdated software libraries, tools, etc. 4. Senior management clueless about the core technologies. 5. Over promise (knowingly) - under deliver: very typical.
