I worked at Magellan Health (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits esp. the retirement benefits. It is good work and rewarding to serve the military and their families.

    Cons

The fact that you don't get a paid vacation or any sick leave is hard to work with. The environment on bases can be stressful especially being outdoors with kids or embedded on the base with the active duty.

    Advice to Management

Help the new people to learn the work.

I have been working at Magellan Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salaried employees enjoy a good life/work balance (work from home is available in most departments), paid time off (which you can use before you accrue), and a decent competitive benefits package. There is potential for growth in all positions which include senior and manager levels. Direct, mid-level management is generally good.

    Cons

Communication appears to digress when directives are pushed down from upper management. Suggestions are dismissed or go unheard which many times leads to confusion.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest listening to analysts and managers who deal with the information that is requested every day. There are times when we understand what management needs and allowing the analysts and managers to present it would go a long way towards trust and faith.
