Pros
The company as a whole is very successful. The benefits are great due to the fact that the company is owned by Cox Enterprises. Matching 401k and a great PTO. Management cares for employees and tries to keep everyone happy. A somewhat decent quarterly bonus structure. They do also provide college tuition reimbursement up to $5000 a semester.
Cons
- Advancement here is nearly impossible. The only way to move up in the company is to move from department to department but after awhile you end up hitting a glass ceiling because there is nowhere else to move. In the years I have worked here I have never seen a regular full time employee get promoted to Supervisor or Manager. When a Supervisor or Manager position opens up the regular employees who apply end up getting overlooked and the position goes to a Manager from a different Manheim auction. - The pay for regular full time employees is very low. It is fine if you are someone in their early to mid-20's looking to build some experience for your resume or have a spouse who makes a ton of money who can support all your financial needs. If you are someone who is a college graduate and ready to start a meaningful career the pay is not worth it. During job searches I see companies with similar positions to a Dealer Services Coordinator and those roles pay anywhere from $40K to $60K which is near double then what a DSC gets. The bonus structure is whatever. Every quarter the department is given a bonus but the combination of the salary and the bonus should be the regular pay. - Dealing with car dealers suck. They are very bossy and very rude. Once in awhile you get some decent people to deal with but the majority are jerks who cry when they do not get their way. Many times I have stuck to my guns when it comes to rules and procedures but all a dealer has to do is run to upper management and they will get their way.
