Pros

- Ability to work from home - few people are nice and willing to share their knowledge - leave at 1 pm before a holiday -some leaders were GREAT - 3 weeks vacation - 2 weeks of sick time - 5 personal days

Cons

- Cliques, some people were horrible and will throw you under the bus to save their own skin, copying managers and leaders in emails to intimidate you - micromanagement is encouraged - promote people with no previous management experience - many good leaders and employees have been laid off or left for better opportunities - layoffs ever quarter, more at year end - little or no diversity - personal lunches were half eaten or fully eaten if left in the fridge, recommend everyone keep their lunch at their desk - people of color are treated BAD, openly heard employees making racist remarks in kitchen - if you’re LGBT, you’re treated WORST....openly heard a female manager make condescending remarks to gay male in a staff meeting

Former colleague: We are very disappointed to hear about the experience you had while working with Mercer. Our diverse and inclusive culture is one of the things that we take a great deal of pride in at Mercer and is consistently one of the most positive and valued aspects of Mercer we hear through our annual colleague survey. We also know that one of the main reasons colleagues come to work with us – and stay with us – is the people they work with every day. We are sorry to hear your experience was not consistent with that way of working and we will look into the feedback points you have provided. In the meantime, if you would like to share additional context about your experience to help us address these points directly, please email ColleagueFeedback@Mercer.com and we will reply directly to you. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your candid thoughts and feedback.

Pros

-Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

Cons

-Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
