Pros

The people I worked with in all states were wonderful.

Cons

Senior managment and the older CEO did not do a good job. Many decisions and mergers did not make any sense, especially putting actuaries and investments in one department. Billable hours were obsessions and people were only numbers. Moral was down. Hopefully the new CEO will change things around. Many good people are gone.

Former Colleague –Thank you for your candid feedback. We take a great deal of pride in our culture, values and leadership at Mercer and know that our colleagues stay with us both because they love the work they do and the people they work with. As you noted, we do have many fantastic colleagues who have chosen to make Mercer their home for their career. However, we are disappointed to hear about the issues you have raised. We strive to provide both stability for all of our colleagues while adapting to an environment that is ever-evolving, innovative and focused on the future of work. Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspectives and for your long service with Mercer. Should you wish to provide additional thoughts, please feel free to email colleaguefeedback@mercer.com. We wish you the best in your next endeavor.

Pros

-Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

Cons

-Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
