Pros

Benefits, work/life balance, cafeteria convenience

Cons

Mercer had one of the most robotic and soulless cultures I’ve ever worked in over my career. No one genuinely cared about anyone’s best interest but their own and the amount of petty corporate politics was mind blowing . While I was proud to tell people I worked at a large and established company, behind the scenes told a very different story. They were disorganized, inept, and lacked any empathy. Perhaps the worst interactions I experienced, who displayed these behaviors the most, were ironically with the People team leadership . It says a lot about a company when you have leadership displaying behaviors that they police other employees not to exhibit. It was shocking what I observed and heard from the People executive who should be advocating against toxicity, bullying, and discrimination - not being its ring leader. Culture starts at the top and I hope they begin embracing diverse and safe environments for all employees because it’s both embarrassing and sad to not do so at this point.

Pros

Remote flexibility, which is nice.

Cons

You will not get a raise and if you do, it'll be 1%. Managers will not help you with escalating issues, you're on your own. It'll be blamed on you. You'll work so much overtime you won't have a social life.
