Pros

its a good place to work becuase the people you are working with are smart and hardworking. The actuarial consulting profession is not growing at all and you are lucky to have a job. I foresee many job cuts in the future. But if you are smart and want a relaxed lifestyle then mercer is the place to work

Cons

the compensation is not the best, but also not the worst. the annual raises barely keep pace with inflation for atleast the analysts and associates. The senior management takes the big bucks. There essentually is no retirement benefits for employees....even though the firm is an employee benefits consulting firm!!

Pros

-Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

Cons

-Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
