Pros

1) World-wide recognition: Everyone knows the Snoopy logo. 2) Great benefits. I never have to worry about health and dental insurance. 3) I have met some amazing and talented people who I hope can stay in contact with them. 4) Flexibility in when I come in the mornings: This is a plus, as I like being able to come in as I please in the mornings.

Cons

1) The salary: I am constantly told that I need to be grateful to have a job and be getting a paycheck. Yet, the salary that I get paid for my experience and education is low and is commensurate to someone who has less experience and education. Metlife does not award employees with more experience and/or education by paying them higher salaries or giving them bigger bonuses. 2) Overall treatment: Management have mentioned that I need to be grateful for having a job despite the economy and high unemployment. This appeared to give management credence to treat employees like robots instead of employees. Mother Met no longer exists, especially since management has become obsessed with metrics and overall numbers. They do not care how those numbers are achieved, and that employees are extremely dismayed and unhappy to be there. 3) Overtime is not paid for, but expected. Work-life balance is not supported. We were informed that overtime pay was a mistake, but then we are expected to finish projects and our daily work on time and within expected deadlines by possibly working overtime. There are not enough talented people to handle all the projects that require their resources and knowledge, and those people are overworked and overstressed. There are too many projects with unreasonable deadlines. Upper management especially makes promises to VPs and directors to get things done, but fail to see that associates are stretched way too thin. Work-life balance is unbalanced to support work and not life. 4) Issues with coworkers are not resolved in a timely fashion: If there is a problem with an employee, especially one in a managerial position, complaints are downgraded and brushed under the rug. Nothing ever gets done, and employees are forced to work for or with this employee. The only recourse is resigning.

Pros

Benefits, PTO, remote, some team mates are cool and super helpful. But they don’t want you being too chatty. Process process process. The pay is low for the stress is gives.

Cons

The pet department has really gone downhill ever since they implemented their “AA” system, which is just terrible to work with. You have to meet their metrics which it’s great to have QA and claim evaluations in place however, they will dock points for the most minor things, but you’ll see AA process things incorrectly, the supervisors process incorrectly, the team leads process incorrectly…. But only the adjusters will get points docked and write ups. And now they expect you to find the AA errors and send it to them, then send it back to you to correct…. But if YOU made that mistake, points docked. In the beginning, before AI, it was a really great job to have, I felt proud to come into work like I was making a difference but it turned into such a demoralizing and depressing job. They stopped treating us like humans over the past 12 months. Hearing the email and task alerts is enough to give you PTSD.
