A punch in, punch out kind of place--not very exciting - Senior Engineer Micron Technology Employee Review

Pros

As a senior engineer with a family, I appreciated the work life balance.

Cons

Poor salary and sometimes cryptic bonus plans. Limited benefits compared to others in industry. Lack of stock compensation or even ESPP (when I left in 2006). Micron was a place to "punch in and out the clock" and get on with your personal life. Some might consider it a bit on the sleepy side compared to other companies. Also it seemed that everyone was a "lifer" Micron employee--many never worked anywhere else in the chip industry. This showed up in a lack of understanding of how things work elsewhere.

Pros

Decent pay, great stock grants and stock purchase plan. You can be at the forefront of memory technology driving today's AI megaboom, and benefit from the high demand (i.e. soaring stock price).

Cons

Little sense of community, lifeless office environment, dead-eyed and overworked employees. "Flexible work arrangements" in name only, as recent policy changes have significantly reduced effectiveness especially if you have a long commute or family life. Too much emphasis on unimportant buzz such as embracing diversity and inclusion is just annoying, but par for the course in today's big tech industry.
