Pros
IC level is great. Everyone is smart, driven, pulls their own weight. Has an autonomous culture at the mid/ director level down. Great talent overall. People are efficient and don’t waste your time. Not a lot of niceties, but it makes things feel authentic, and you know where you stand with people. A low amount of formal systems/overprogrammatizing in place, feels like you can actually spend your time on important things rather than dated procedure. Good work life balance for the most part- ebbs and flows for sure but people largely respect boundaries as long as you get back to people quickly on slack. Not too many useless meetings, they try to limit tons of group meetings and group emails so people aren’t spammed- which is appreciated Good benefits, people actually do take PTO, opps to travel if you want
Cons
*reminder that this is all my own personal opinion, and is therefore, subjective* Exec team and sr leadership has been really high turnover and is a total mess. Most everyone at VP level and above have huge egos and show it- very top down. Some VPs are rockstars, some are total jerks. The misalignment in culture between sr leadership and the rest of the company is staggering- it feels like two companies were cut in half and pasted together. In our recent employee engagement survey, I think less than a third of the company surveyed approved of sr leadership. The new Sr leaders being brought in are worse than the ones already here. Very very top down and afraid to ruffle feathers or even hear out people below them. The company has a pretty gruff and harsh culture. Not for those who get their feelings hurt easily. People are very brash and almost come off Understaffed, but tbh, that’s how all tech companies have been in my experience since Covid backlash layoffs.
