Pros

Compensation which is on par with market and equity grants

Cons

There is no 360 degrees feedback or nothing along those lines which is sincerely done. Managers can and do get away with anything. They tend to be horrible to their directs, at times even using profanities and curse words in team meetings and in 1:1 and yet they get away because they are technically very sound and business values them for it. There is no feedback for managers that the directs can provide. There is no way you can voice out your opinion about your manager and have someone hear it. The business totally relies on their managers not because of their managerial or people handling skills but only because they have been top contributors or technically sound. The whole focal process is so opaque. Everything relies on the managers. Nothing is communicated to the employee. The employee / directs knows only final rating whether they have been rated Top Contributor or Fully Contributor or RI and that too at end of year. There is no split provided as to how they have been scored on the various parameters. The 1:1 and focal discussions are just a sham. It is just a sadistic game for managers to play cat and mouse with their directs. The managers (especially those who report into US managers) are so conceited with the full knowledge that you can neither go against them or over their head or to the regional HR folks. The managers here totally demoralize you. The regular feedback are only on paper. Most of the managers here don't provides feedback in time or help you to achieve your goals. They set unrealistic goals, do no course correction over the year or assist you and at the end of the year mark you down by giving such low focal increase that it hardly beats the inflation

Pros

NVIDIA's PTO and Sick policies are compassionate and generous. Managers listen to employees' ideas. Employees get to work on a wider variety of projects than expected, and usually work closely with other teams to get things done. Collaboration is tight almost all of the time.

Cons

Employees don't always get insight into why they were assigned a particular project, or have much if any choice about what projects they get to work on. Managers are often too busy working on projects themselves to have the free time to meet with employees on a regular basis. This leads to short-term, reactive thinking rather than long-term visionary thinking.

Pros

The product security organization has a very ideal work-life balance. The culture is strong on ownership and trust. There is a good sense of pride and collaboration across teams with low level of politics and high sense of "the project is the boss". Compensation is good for the roles. Merit increases and promotions are mostly transparent, but can vary from manager to manager.

Cons

Leadership direction can be whiplash at some times. Some initiatives feel directionless, while others feel misguided. Leadership does respond to push back and listens to employees though, but it often feels like managing up.
