- Pay rate $22/hr one of the lowest in the industry. Medical assistants are not valued here. -Management does not visit our site to improve quality of our facility - Equipment always fails with promises to find replacements - we are always short of help, resulting in frequent burnout - company took away coffee and utensils to save money - company doesnt give employees retention bonuses, the previous company the polyclinic gave these out on a regular basis - optum does not do alot of team building or employee appreciation events - any time an employee thinks of an idea to boost morale and to lift spirits their ideas get dismissed - We are asked to complete yearly surveys, they dont achieve us anything. These are used to prop up the company to show how exceptional leadership is doing even though they could not be counted on. -health insurance is expensive through this company, provided by its parent company united healthcare (not only do we work for them, we buy their insurance with high deductibles and high premiums. Co pays for specialty services can be $50 out of pocket
