Pros

PCL has a great culture of hard working staff who care about what they are doing. There are a lot of unique and challenging projects that you get to work on throughout your career. The company is ambitious and has a direction that they are always working towards. PCL is a very stable and reputable company within the construction industry. The share ownership program makes up for lower initial base salaries if you stick it out for a few years and continues to increase as the years go on. Good benefits coverage.

Cons

The downsides of working at PCL are similar to ones found elsewhere within the industry; - longer hours of work; 10 hour days are pretty standard, with occasional weekend work and extended days depending on project requirements - a bit of an archaic view on parental leave, along with a stigma, typical within the industry

Thanks for your review and feedback! We are also very proud of our employees and the great work that we do. Your feedback on parental leave is important to us and is something we would like to look into further. We invite you to speak with your district HRPD manager about this or reach out to us at glassdoor@pcl.com so we can get more insight from you.
