Pros

Commission structured so that if you get lucky and end up in a good area you can crank out 500k a year plus.

Cons

No work life balance. Success Dependent on Territory and previous representatives' interactions. Long sales cycle but expectations for year one are unreasonably high with first warnings turning into terminations extremely quickly. Don't bother making friends because either you will be gone or they will be. People constantly crying in the office. You are expected to work ridiculous hours and there is no flexibility, there is no compassion, there is no culture. The culture they claim is a culture of greed, of ego centrism, and of gaudiness and gawkiness. "Paycom allowed me to buy this, paycom allowed me to buy that" There is no residuals built in which means if you have one great year and make 500k the next year if you can't find as many accounts you get no build up and each territory has around 300 accounts tops, so you are calling on the same 300 companies, many of which either had another representative present or even secure the account or have cancelled Paycom entirely. Whether you make it in the first year is mostly luck, as they use a strategy of churn and burn until something sticks. If by luck you get to executive rep status then congratulations because the accounts that new representatives start will go straight to you to close once they are fired for not making enough appointments one week or if they simply don't fit the "box". There is a reason they hire people from all different majors, they hire recent college graduates and make them believe there is no other good jobs or opportunities out there and many of the poor souls slowly murder themselves hoping to remain on this so called golden goose that really is a churn and burn scenario. Also yes you can find a better job, and yes there are more lucrative opportunities out there. The crazy commissions are so aggressive only because they do not pay you residuals, and once they burn you they get to keep the aggregate. This is not a career, this is a get rich quick scheme that they sell in a nice box. I recommend you stay far far away.

Pros

* Fast learning and professional skill growth. * Great people and strong teams. * Recognized name in the OKC community. * Valuable experience that strengthens future career opportunities, especially in Tech.

Cons

Over the past couple of years, career growth has felt extremely limited. Promotions and meaningful raises have become increasingly rare, and many employees believe these decisions are being driven from the very top. Layoffs and terminations have also become common, creating a constant sense of uncertainty. High performers often take on high-visibility projects with aggressive timelines and limited support. The expectations are unrealistic, and even successful delivery doesn’t usually lead to recognition or advancement. Leadership tends to make decisions very late, creating unnecessary urgency and forcing teams into last-minute scrambles. Benefits have declined, opportunities for advancement have become scarce, and overall morale has suffered significantly. There are talented people here and it can be a good place to gain experience, but I would view it primarily as a stepping stone rather than a long-term destination.
