Pros
The employees make the experience at Pearson enjoyable. There are excellent professionals here driven to deliver for the customer and build the Pearson Brand. I have met excellent friends in my role and learned a great deal. When I entered, optimism was high and Pearson was involved competitively in several markets.
Cons
Unfortunately as Pearson makes the awkward transformation into a Digital Solutions company, it has lost much of what made it an ideal place to work. Skilled people are being cut or leaving at a concerning rate and each new round of layoffs comes off the back of a rescinded promise about job security. The heart and soul of Pearson are slowly being carved away as people who have worked for decades are let go unceremoniously without any intention of trying to keep them aboard. Those left behind shoulder the lions share of the work that is left undone and one may find their position grows several new responsibilities outside their hired purview, but with no compensation to match. Advancement is rare in my sector.
